These terms apply whenever you use Want That One (wantthatone.com, "the site", "we", "us"). By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
1. What Want That One is
Want That One is a free calculator that helps you compare the estimated cost of buying a car outright, on Hire Purchase (HP), on a Personal Contract Purchase (PCP), or leasing it (PCH), based on the figures you enter. It's a tool for working things out for yourself — we're not a car dealer, finance broker, credit intermediary or lender, we don't arrange finance, and we're not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
2. Not financial advice
Nothing on this site is financial, credit or legal advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy, finance or lease any particular car or deal. The results are illustrative estimates based on the numbers you enter — real quotes from lenders and dealers will vary depending on your credit profile, the lender, the specific car, and terms that change over time. Always check the real figures in any agreement before you sign it, and get independent financial advice if you need it.
3. Accuracy of estimates
We try to make the calculations as useful and realistic as possible, but we can't guarantee that any figure shown — monthly cost, running costs, net cost, or anything else — is accurate, complete, or matches what you'll actually be offered. Fuel, electricity, insurance, servicing and road tax figures are general estimates and won't reflect your exact circumstances. You're responsible for checking any numbers that matter to your decision.
4. No liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or reliance on anything it shows — including decisions you make about buying, financing or leasing a car. The site is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, and we don't guarantee it will be available, uninterrupted or error-free.
5. Acceptable use
Please use the site only for its intended purpose — comparing car deals. Don't try to disrupt it, scrape it at scale, reverse-engineer it, or use it in any way that breaks the law or infringes anyone else's rights.
6. Your data
The cars you add and compare are stored only in your own browser (via localStorage) — we don't require an account, and we don't hold that comparison data on our own servers. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, which sets its own cookies and collects usage data under Google's terms. If you use the Contact form, the details you submit are sent to us via Netlify Forms so we can reply to you.
7. Third-party links and services
The site links out to third-party services — for example WhatsApp or your email client if you use the Share feature. We're not responsible for the content, availability or practices of any third-party site or service you reach from here.
8. Intellectual property
The Want That One name, logo and site design are ours. You're welcome to share results from the tool (including the PDF export) for your own personal use, but please don't copy or reproduce the site itself without asking us first.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time as the site changes. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
